ABOUT US Jo’s Modern Thai is a Thai Californian restaurant in Oakland’s Laurel District known for bold flavors, warm hospitality, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere. We are a chef driven restaurant focused on consistency, quality, and creating a strong team culture. As we expand lunch service and continue to grow, we are looking for a Floor Manager who can support daily service and uphold clear standards. ABOUT THE ROLEThe Floor Manager supports the front of house during lunch and dinner service. You lead servers hosts runners and bar staff. You maintain a calm and professional presence on the floor. You communicate clearly with the kitchen. You help keep service organized and consistent. You assist with FOH ordering and help build the weekly schedule with the chef. WHAT YOU WILL DOLead the front of house team during serviceGuide pacing table flow and communication with the kitchenRun preshift meetings and set clear expectationsSupport guest recovery when neededMaintain dining room cleanliness table settings and overall standardsAssist with training new staffMonitor FOH par levels and place weekly ordersHelp organize FOH storage and complete monthly inventoryAssist with FOH scheduling with the chefMaintain a positive and professional work environment WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORTwo to four years of restaurant experienceOne year of leadership or supervisory experienceStrong communication and team leadership skillsAbility to stay organized in high volume serviceExperience in chef driven restaurants is preferredWeekend availability including lunch and dinnerMust be 21 years or olderValid California Food Handler certification COMPENSATIONStarting at $27 dollars per hourQuarterly performance bonusesGrowth to thirty to thirty two dollars per hour based on performanceShift meal and dining discountsPaid sick leave HOW TO APPLYPlease submit your resume and a brief note about your leadership experience and availability.
